Today, Vice President Mike Pence visited our Kennedy Space Center in Florida. While there, he toured the complex and learned about the center’s work as a multi-user spaceport for commercial and government clients. He also saw our progress toward launching from U.S. soil on spacecraft built by American companies, and traveling past the moon, and eventually on to Mars with the help of our Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System rocket.
Here, Vice President Mike Pence is joined by astronaut Reid Wiseman, Kennedy Center Director Bob Cabana, Deputy Center Director Janet Petro and NASA Acting Administrator Robert Lightfoot. Wiseman explains components on the Orion spacecraft, which will carry humans deeper into space than ever before, and eventually to Mars.
