“... The human face is universal. For our survival, we are genetically designed to recognize each other’s faces. We read faces to determine fight or flight and sometimes love or hate. Even in our digital age, the facial expressions of emoticons help us to determine the emotional context in a text or email. As for the use of female faces, I’ve always been attracted to painting women. For Diovadiova Chrome, I chose women that I have an emotional connection with as models. It seems foreign for many people, because they’re not used to seeing women of African decent being presented in such a regal way. To me, it was natural to use their beauty.” An exclusive interview with the New York-based Artist Kip Omolade whose lifelike and vibrant Oil Paintings Of African Female Faces reflect originality, beauty and extraordinary skills.
