Today the Museum launches a new special exhibition called Inside You. In it, we ask you to consider how our bodies are home to many trillions of microbes, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other organisms collectively called the human microbiome. One such microorganism, Demodex folliculitis---seen here---is a worm-like skin mite, complete with tiny arms, claws, and scales over their entire body which allows it to anchor itself in your hair follicles.
