Photo by @migeophoto // What makes a town? Infrastructure? Community? Pie? If you find yourself driving, hiking, or cycling the continental divide, you might find yourself in Pie Town, New Mexico. This unincorporated community is filled with mostly elderly residents looking to live in an area that is truly rural. The nearest town (with a grocery store, Police Department, etc.) is 83 miles west. There are houses, tiny houses, cabins, a community center, hiking trails, and (pictured here) the famous Pie Town Café. This café is filled with roadtrippers, truckers, farmers, and others passing through on Highway 60. If you stick around, you can also find the 'Toaster House,' a hostel for travelers working their way up (or down) the continental divide. // #pietown #newmexico #pietowncafe #americana #route60 #pietownnewmexico
