From lush rain forest to steaming lava lake, hiking on the Kīlauea Iki trail at #Hawaii Volcanoes #NationalPark is an amazing experience. The crater itself is a stark, gray landscape of rocky hills that slope down to a floor paved with cooled, hardened lava. The main attraction is Pu‘u Pua‘i (gushing hill), a volcanic cone created during a large eruption in 1959.
