Happy 69th Birthday, Dad. I can't believe how much time has passed since you've been gone. I always imagined you growing older; you'd have that great head of hair, but it would be silvery gray instead of black and your piercing blue eyes would be softer. I think you'd like seeing me as a mom but most of all, I really think you'd get a kick out of your grandsons (as you'd say). It boggles my mind that you'll never know them and maybe more so, that they won't know you. Don't worry--I'll always keep your story alive (and regale them with facts like that you invented the word "cool").? I love this blurry photo because it was such an ordinary summer day, around your birthday in 2013, where I came home to visit you and mom but you were feeling (and looking) like your old self again. This is how I like to remember you, BFD. Happy Flag Day. ??
