Yesterday we drove to Diss (east coast) to the printing factory where they turn books from digital files to yanno, BOOKS!! Firstly, it was fascinating to watch all the different steps and see the skill and craft that goes into such a process. Secondly, I saw MY book being 'book born' and got to hold one literally hot off the press. It was so surreal!! A thing that was in my head and then on my laptop is now a tangible book. I've inspected every little bit of it, the way the jacket curves perfectly round the spine with the embossed title, the tiny flecks of turquoise foiling on an image on the back, the different fonts to denote the past and present of Robin's story, and it's beautiful, just beautiful.
