For over a year we have waited for the perfect opportunity to highlight Lauren. Aside from her natural beauty and physical uniqueness, there is something else very special about her. Her ability to not only persevere through the life-altering experience of losing her limb to Toxic Shock Syndrome, but to also dedicate herself to spreading awareness about this potentially fatal condition, is truly inspiring to us. Many women are in the dark about the risks associated with the feminine hygiene products that they use every month. We need to break the stigma and begin discussing this matter more openly to prevent TSS from continuing to harm women.
