先日入荷した、メディコム・トイが世界中の様々なアーティストとともにアートワークやデザインを通じて様々なアイテムを提案するブランド「Sync.」より“BOMB HUGGER”をご紹介いたします。
イギリスのブリストル出身で、ロンドンを中心に活動する覆面芸術家「BANKSY」が描いた“BOMB HUGGER”にインスパイアされたポリストーン製スタチューです。
この作品は、2003年にロンドンの「Pictures on Walls」社が限定プリントとして初公開したアートワークで、爆弾を抱えている少女は暴力と戦争の問題をBanksyらしいダークユーモアで風刺した一作となっています。少女の服装からポニーテールまで忠実に再現しています。
その他にも“LOVE RAT”、“FLOWER BOMBER”、“MONKEY SIGN”、ロンドンを代表するグラフィティ・アーティスト「D*Face」の人気作品“BEETHOVEN”のスタチューも展開しています。

We would like to introduce the "BOMB HUGGER" from "Sync" which is a brand of Medicom Toy suggesting various items using artwork and design of artists from all over the world, which has just came in stock in store.
This is a poly-stone statue inspired from the graffiti of"BANKSY", an anonymous artist from Bristol, UK who mainly works at London.
This pieces uses the artwork first created as a limited edition of
prints published by "Pictures on Walls" from London in 2003.
In this work an innocent girl is hugging a large bomb. The girl
represents purity whereas the bomb, which symbolizes war, represents destruction and evil. It is a very Banksy like piece of work satirizing these issues with plenty of black humor. The girl is faithfully reproduced even details such as clothes and her ponytail.
We have other works such as "LOVE RAT", "FLOWER BOMBER", MONKEY SIGN"
and also the "BEETHOVEN" which is a popular work of "D*Face", the famous graffiti artist in London.
