“I want the world to know everything about my husband,” says Anjali Pinto (@anjalipinto), a 28-year-old Chicago-based photographer whose late husband Jacob Johnson (@jcb_jhnsn) died suddenly, almost instantly, on New Year’s Eve 2016 from an undiagnosed heart condition. The couple had celebrated their first wedding anniversary only months before.
“He was extraordinarily strong, healthy, vibrant until the moment he was gone,” remembers Anjali. “He will always be only 30 years old.
Together, we dreamed of building a life and family that focused on making art, being kind and treasuring new experiences. I continue to share our story, and Jacob’s memory, because it’s my best way to keep him alive in conversation. So many people will never get to meet him, but through my stories I hope that they feel grateful for their own life, and their opportunity to live fully and love hard.”
