Roger Moore, best known for playing the role of James Bond across seven movies, has died after fighting "a short but brave battle with cancer," his family said. He was 89.

He appeared in Bond classics like "Live and Let Die," "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "For Your Eyes Only." He was also known for roles in the television series The Persuaders and The Saint.
