Today I learned about Rwandan women's loan groups. These, often uneducated women, get together weekly and invest the cash they have in groups of 30, to be able to take a little credit. They told me, they mainly use the paypack to be able to send their daughters to school without needing any mans approval. Making this art is one of their buisnesses they've set up to be independent too. I got this bowl for 7000 Rwandan francs, which is approx 8 USD and she told me it took her 4 days to make ?? Let's think about all the nonsense we spend money on... and how long it takes us to make 8$. Almost 50 percent of the population here lives on 1.25$ per day. Just a little info to think about.
