Starting in the dark in this secluded part of the park brings a sense of excitement because you know are going to be the only one on the trail, but don't know what you will run into. The night before, I had a great night's sleep camping at the trailhead in the back of my car. In this moment, I was antsy to get started. The buildup kills me.
