Video by @bertiegregory. Giant otters are an extremely social species living groups of up to 20 individuals. Communication within their family group is important but perhaps more important, is communication between family groups. Why? Because, an adult giant otter needs to eat about 2kg/4lbs of fish every single day so maintaining access to good fishing is vital. As a result, a significant amount of their day is spent hauling out on the river banks in their territory, urinating and defecating on the floor before dancing and sliding around in it. What a life!
