Eyes are my favorite feature. When I draw someone, I always sketch in the eyes first. It's the eyes and brows that define the subjects mood. One misplaced line, and suddenly they're cross-eyed! Too much arch in the brow, and suddenly they're evil! I begin my illustrations with light, sketchy lines that I slowly build up. If things are coming together as planned, there's this great moment when the eyes kind of awaken and the entire drawing comes to life. I love it when that happens. I think that's why I enjoy drawing people so much.
