Photo by @Cristina Mittermeier // After many weeks of waiting, there is much excitement when the precious egg finally hatches. Fluffy and gray, the newborn hatchling of a Black-browed Albatross is truly adorable, but little does it know, that by the time it reaches adulthood, it will become one of the most stunning seabirds in the world. By 2013, this beautiful bird was classified as Endangered because so many birds were being caught as bycatch in the squid fishery of the southern ocean. Thanks to the efforts of organizations like @theWCS who have protected some of the islands where these birds nest, they are seeing an amazing recovery. Happy Easter!
