?? Raffaello Sanzio ou Santi, plus connu sous le nom de Raphaël, est un peintre de la Renaissance. Il est né le 6 avril 1483 à Urbino et mort le même jour en 1520 à Rome.

Le tableau "La Belle Jardinière", aussi connu sous le nom de "La Vierge à l'Enfant avec le petit saint Jean-Baptiste", est daté de 1507-1508. C'est un témoignage des recherches de Raphaël sur le motif de la Vierge à l'Enfant avec saint Jean inscrit dans une composition dynamique et pyramidale au premier plan d'un paysage.
Le premier plan est parsemé de fleurs minutieusement dépeintes, d'où le nom du tableau. On peut y voir entre autres des violettes - symboles de l'humilité de la Vierge - et des ancolies - symboles de la Passion du Christ.

The painting "The Beautiful Gardener", also known as "Madonna and Child with Saint John the Baptist" was painted in 1507-1508. It reflects Raphaelstudies about a pyramidal and dynamic composition of the Virgin and Child with Saint John the Baptist in a landscape.
In the foreground we can see a wide variety of plants. We can recognize violets -symbol of the Virgin's humility- and aquilegias -symbol of the Passion of Christ. ?
