Like the Olympics and downtown New York, the hoodie is part of #OpeningCeremony’s DNA. It was the first item Carol and Humberto designed upon opening in 2002 (diamond color-blocks were soon spotted on everyone from Ryan Mcginley to Karl Lagerfeld). In 2005, our founders followed up their act by crossing a hoodie with a polo. The Rugby-striped masterpiece boasted drawstrings and a golf collar—and was released during OC’s Year of London, alongside collections by Gareth Pugh and Marios Schwab. Twelve years later, high-low harmony is still in fashion, and we’ve reissued the Striped Rugby in OG pink and orange—alongside two new colors and matching sweats.
