The art of story telling is one that is deeply rooted in #African culture. I came across this image online of a Senegalese Chef and his griot taken in the early 1900s by Edmond Fortier. Griots were historians, storytellers and musicians found mainly in #westafrica. Villagers would gather around them to here stories and songs passed down from their ancestors. Even today there are griots in #westAfrican villages still telling the same stories.#history #heritage #africa
