Photo by @amivitale. Meet Mike Learka, a proud wildlife keeper at Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (@r.e.s.c.u.e). He is part of a team of keepers, all from his local community in Northern Kenya. Reteti is part of the Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy and is owned by the Samburu community. Pokot, the elephant calf, is an orphan through drought but will one day be back in the wild, walking the migratory routes that his family has walked for centuries. Until then, Mike will look after him.
