Making his way from #Lebanon through Europe, Imad shared his skills cooking for other refugees – up to 400 at a time – and found even in the most challenging times, his passion for food and bringing people together to celebrate life was strong. When he arrived in the UK, Imad found work as a car salesman and was able to bring his family to join him in England. He also became involved in our #CookForSyria initiative, helping raise money for Syrian children with Unicef's NEXTGeneration. Through this experience, Imad began to dream of running his own restaurant again. Launching 9th March, ‘Imad’s Syrian Kitchen’ pop-up restaurant on Columbia Road will run until 24th March... tickets almost sold out - book quickly via @imadssyriankitchen ❤ The menu will feature a series of beautiful Syrian dishes, which Imad has taken with him from Damascus to London. The three-course set menu includes traditional dishes such as Fattoush (toasted flatbreads, pomegranate molasses, tomato and cucumber), Kabsa (spicy chicken with cardamom and rice) & Tabakh Rohoo (aubergine, squash & tamarind stew). Food has the power to bring people together from different backgrounds, races and cultures, and Imad’s Syrian Kitchen wants to do just that. This will be a family kitchen-table style supper, with food placed on sharing platters to be enjoyed with your fellow diners. Through this pop-up, Imad hopes to start his new journey as a restaurant entrepreneur and make his dream to own a restaurant again happen.
