To mark #InternationalWomensDay, we’d like to honour the Japanese American artist #RuthAsawa, who inspired our upcoming Laboratory collection.

At the start of her career, Asawa’s signature wire sculptures were dismissed by critics as women’s craft work, as opposed to art. Yet she transcended the barriers she faced, going from life as a child in poverty to achieving international respect for her work and her 48-year campaign for arts education, and all whilst raising a large family. Here’s to you Ruth – and to all the incredible women in our lives. #IWD #IWD2017
