I was saddened to hear about the passing of the great Miriam Colón. Miriam was a fierce actress and a giving soul, she created so many opportunities for Latino artists and paved the way for a lot of us. I was fortunate to get an early start at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater (which she founded) and had the distinct joy of working with her closely on the film adaptation of Bless Me, Ultima. She was a true artist. I learned a great deal watching her work, I'm so grateful for her generosity of spirit. QEPD, Señora Colón.
