"The cold was one of my biggest fears going into the World Marathon Challenge. I think I have come to terms with cold.  I don't think I will ever truly be unafraid of cold as I saw what it can do to people with frostbite. Now I understand that if I want to explore certain places around the world that cold is part of it and I accept that. The cold weather during the Antarctica race didn't feel too bad, even though it was -30 degrees. When you are running you generate a lot of heat so I actually was getting too hot at certain points and therefore had to vent my jacket and take off my gloves."- HOKA Athlete Mike Wardian
