Photo by @Gerd Ludwig. With Ukraine in the news again, here is a photograph from my @ナショナルジオグラフィック coverage shortly before the conflict.
In Sevastopol, Crimea chords of friendship bind accordionist Olesya and comrades, who meet Sundays on the promenade to sing and dance into the night. The promenade is composed of terraces, large gardens full of shrubs, trees, and flower beds, and is dissected by gravel walkways. It is a popular destination of resort for inhabitants and tourists of all ages. This photograph is included in my book “Minus 2/3: The Invisible Strobe” which details my flash photography technique.
