The journey to the Libyan border from Agadez, Niger, is 250 miles long. In all, it takes 3 days. No one knows how many die along the way. Those who venture a journey across the Mediterranean take a deadly gamble, too. Among the more than 4,700 people who have died trying to cross the Central Mediterranean so far in 2016, most can’t be identified.
