Folks, there's a declawing bill in NJ that is on the table & the NJVMA is putting out lies to the legislators & public about declawing.
We need more support & awareness for this bill & we need your help.
Please RESPECTFULLY reach out to well known vets & ask them if they will write a story about declawing & support this NJ (and NY) bill.
As many of you know, I respectfully reached out to a few well known vets exactly one year ago.
One of them was, Dr Marty Becker, who is a true advocate for animals, & he said he was happy to help & wrote a very educational story about how declawing causes lifelong pain in cats & is very harmful for all cats. In the story he said, "So let’s embrace this new wave of concern over the practice of declawing. Just as our profession once held a belief that animals don’t feel pain, and more recently thought it was acceptable to leave animals in pain if we needed to keep them quiet, let’s put this one into the history books where it belongs!" I also respectfully reached out to @drandyroark he wrote back, ""there's a decent chance that I will draw public attention to this issue, but it will be when I am researched, inspired, and ready to try to make change." And then I was shocked that he wrote a story called, "I'm Being Cyber Bullied." ?
It's been 1 yr, so I wrote him a new respectful email, asking him if he is ready to help educate the public about declawing or help our cause. I didn't hear back from him. I'm hoping he won't write another story about being cyber bullied. ??
It's odd that from what I've heard, he's never once done a video or post about solutions to cat scratching issues or trimming a cat's nails, etc or mentioned the word "declaw."?
Please find other popular vets & ask them to help us. Let's hope that the good ones, who aren't afraid of losing their pro-declaw vet followers or veterinary professionals on their social media pages, will do the right thing & help us & truly care about the welfare of cats instead of their self serving interests.?
