It's tough to tell artist to be better when in a sense they're not allowed to be. If your song isn't talking about drugs, money, cars, clothes, or bitches you can't compete in a mainstream space as an urban artist. I think it's sad that we make these talented kids reduce their talent to nothing in order to be seen and heard. I thank God I got in at a good time when your talent still mattered. When the content of the song was more important than the beat. I thank God for my foundation of fans and friends that still take this ride with me. I stay the course so that others who want to be like me with see the path. It's hard out here for new singers and new rappers because there's only room for bullshit. We have a couple good artist who talk about good things but even they have to belittle themselves sometimes to stay current. A change will come but who will sacrifice to ensure that it does?
