This stunning work currently on display in #OutofHand at the #PowerhouseMuseum is ‘Torrent’ by Australian artist Louis Pratt. ‘Torrent’ refers to the flow of data that Louis Pratt uses to produce his sculptures; this work represents the enmeshment between humans and technology. The concept behind this work is based on George Boole’s mathematical work on symbolic logic, developed around the 1850, well before computers but underpinning today’s computer machine language.
