I received a google alert last night with my name and the Sandusky Register newspaper used this photo as the lead photo in this story! LOL! They have since switched it out with a nice photo of two awesome vets from Health & Harmony Animal Hospital in Ohio, who are shining examples of doctors who are true advocates for all animals by not declawing cats.❤️

I'm super sad that the Humane Society of Erie County Ohio exec. director is taking the cowardly way out by saying they have no position on cat declawing. ??How can a place that calls themselves a "Humane Society" not speak out and say that they are against this INHUMANE procedure????
Why wouldn't they take these kind of opportunities with media coverage to instill a humane mindset in the public and those who want to adopt cats by saying that it is harmful, mutilating, cruel, painful, and just wrong and that there are plenty of humane alternatives. Good grief!
Their mission statement on their website says, "The mission of the Humane Society of Erie County is to educate the residents of Erie County on proper care, housing and support of animals; to prevent animal cruelty in Erie County."
PROPER CARE is to not allow any cat to have its toe bones and claws amputated since it IS animal cruelty!!!
It is just simply mind boggling how people like this are so apathetic to this important cause. They could be helping to save cats from such a barbaric procedure yet they choose not to.
