I'd never painted a lady in a kimono before. I have a friend who paints using traditional Japanese methods. She invited me to take part in this exhibition. The exhibition's theme is 'women wearing kimonos'. The painting's composition includes the traditional Japanese elements of cherry blossom and Mount Fuji. I also included the symbolic images of cherry blossom and Mount Fuji in the paintings.
