A bird in the hand is worth...at least one good photo op. ?

After three different flights (including another prop plane - d'oh!), I'm finally up in Manitoba's near-arctic tundra town of Churchill to start my polar bear encounter.

Here, in an area largely inhabited with First Nations people, I try my hand at calling birds. I think I'm a natural!

Over the next few weeks I'll share plenty more of my tough tundra adventure, shot on my new @corninggorilla device, the #HTCBolt.
