The moon is looking especially super as it sets a stage for the Soyuz rocket that will launch the next crew to the International Space Station on Nov. 17. Go outside and check out the supermoon tonight! The full moon will appear 30% brighter and 14% bigger than average. This is the closest the full moon has been to Earth since 1948. Don’t miss it, because we won’t see another supermoon like this until 2034.
A supermoon occurs when the moon’s orbit is closest (perigee) to Earth.
