"Stephen Gammell has made a very important contribution to these books because he has such a wild imagination" —Alvin Schwartz, author of “Scary Stories” trilogy based on folklore and legend, originally accompanied by illustrations by Stephen Gammell including the one seen here. CBS Films is currently planning an adaptation of Schwartz’s popular short stories directed by Guillermo del Toro. In LACMA’s exhibition, “Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters,” a selection of several original illustrations by Gammell from del Toro’s private collection are on view.
