5 months ago, my curiosity about working in a restaurant got the best of me and I stumbled into the Cactus Club on Kingsway with my resume in hand. It had been almost 8 years since I've had to apply for a new job and I was as nervous as can be. Considering my time in Vancouver was limited, I didn't expect to get the job. I got the job. What I also was not expecting was that I was going to meet so many amazing people and form the friendships that I did. It has been an absolute pleasure working with and getting to know all of you from FOH to BOH, you are all truly an amazing team to work with. It feels like I've known some of your for years, not months. I'll never forget our twerk battles in the pass through, surprise mid-shift cheers, the constant eating to strutting through the restaurant as if it was my runway, the "Fire the Hoe-rads" and the "Yo Thats," throwing up in Justin's car, chasing you guys through the restaurant because I either sent you to the wrong table or sent out the wrong steak with the wrong salad, the look Liam gave me when I told him he was missing a 7oz Well done blackened steak for a table but it was right underneath my nose the entire time, or that time I dropped a ketchup rammie and struck 3 servers including myself in one go (Sorry Rhoda and Alexis), also Monday night basketball games til 4 in the morning, and of course our Tuesday nights at Celebrities. You've all made me feel so welcome from day 1. Although my last day with you guys was on Tuesday, I know that some of these friendships will continue way beyond that and this 6 month contract. Thank you guys for Tuesday night. It was the best send off and I'm going to miss you all so much. Much love, JerBear
