INCREDIBLE NEWS!! We’ve been awarded a £10.9million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund!

We’re going to build a 1950s Town, with cinema, houses, shops, cafe and community centre... you’ll also be able to stay overnight in a Georgian coaching inn, as we expand our 1820s Landscape! Aged miners’ homes will be a pioneering centre for older people, including those living with dementia. We’re also moving a Weardale farm, stone by stone, to Beamish to show 1950s rural life.

Nearly 100 jobs and 50 apprenticeships are set to be created, and an extra 100,000 visitors attracted to the region.
