Today I finished designing the @SamanthaWillsOfficial High Summer 2017 Collection (in stores NEXT Xmas 2017!) from my design desk, in New York City - Today, I also realized this is the 80th collection I have designed for this brand that I started on my dining room table, 12 years ago – I often get asked about my design process, and I wish I had something more romantic to report when people ask me about the inspiration behind my designs; Was it the stunning palette I saw in the bags of spices being sold by the gypsy in a moroccan bazaar? (I’ve never been to Morocco). The peach hue from the first slither of light that rises over the New York skyline for Manhattan's sunrise? (I can safely say I am buried beneath my bed covers fast asleep at that hour). The reflection of the stars into the piercing blue of my Lover’s eyes, while we share a bottle of Shiraz under the moonlight? (Well, maybe, but I’m not one to kiss and tell!) - But what I will tell you, and what I tell every style reporter in every media interview I have ever done, in no uncertain terms, is that every single collection is designed for YOU – the SW Woman. You are so gracious to speak with me on a daily basis on our social media platforms, showing me how you wear your SW, what you are liking & what you want to see more of.
