Matt McGorry (@マット・マクゴリー) and I first became friends almost ten years ago lifting weights together in a dingy gym in Harlem. At the time, he was working as a personal trainer, but his real passion was acting. I was in college and wanted to be a trainer, but I wasn't confident that I could make a living doing it so I was studying sociology and did a finance internship in order to get a "real job". Shortly thereafter, we both decided to take a chance and go "all in" on our passions, and now Matt has been crushing it on two successful tv shows (Orange Is the New Black and How to Get Away With Murder), and I'm a trainer and he's one of my clients. It's very cool and inspiring what he's done with his life, and I'm happy that we still get to train together and are both doing what we love to do."
