"I grew up listening to a lot of country music that my father was into like Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams. I liked it, but as a teen trying to find my own musical identity, I got totally absorbed by all things punk rock. In my early twenties, after expanding my musical tastes, I found country again by listening to a few early Brad Paisley songs. Country music has a way of really reaching deep into the emotions and subjects of ordinary life, and the greatest thing about it is the ability to tell a story.
