To me, the Cowboys team under Coach Jimmy Johnson has been the best team in history of the NFL, if even for those two years. In my opinion, those Cowboys would have beaten the 85 Bears, the Steelers of the 70's, and the 49ers with Joe Montana. These Cowboys not only had Troy, Emmitt and Michael Irwin. They had Norv Turner and Dave Wanstead as offensive and defensive coordinators, having as a result the number one offense and defense of the league. We had Charles Haley, Ken Norton Jr, and one of the greatest tight ends and full backs of all time: Jay Novacek and The Moose Darryl Johnston. The sickest and thickest lines with Nate Newton,Larry Allen and Mark Stepnoski on the offense and Tony Casillas and Leon Lett on the other side. I was in the stadium for Super Bowl XXVII where the Cowboys defeated Buffalo 52-17 and Troy was MVP. Oh, how much I cried when 2 years later Coach Johnson left the team. The Cowboys won another Super Bowl under Barry Switzer but we all know that it was because of the remaining magic dust that Jimmy left behind. Even our special teams were super special during that time. It's been 21 years since the Cowboys won their last Super Bowl and to me, the only other couple that has come very close to equal the magic that Jimmy and Troy had are Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Those two are also magicians and I admire them immensely. The Patriots have been dismantled like 5 times and still they win. One of the lines of Coach Johnson that has always been a super important part of me is the following one: "When you face a huge mean Gorilla you don't hit him lightly, you hit him in the mouth with everything that you've got." And that's how I've lived my life. So I Love to have two of my kids named after Troy Aikman and Jimmy Johnson...
