Early morning, Patan, Nepal. An elderly woman sits in an ancient palace square selling handfuls of corn and wheat that locals feed to pigeons as they perform their morning prayers. Feeding pigeons in a sacred place is seen as a kind deed which will increase your own merit in turn. ~

In the background, scaffolding covers the seventeenth century Krishna temple, now under repair for damage sustained during the April 2015 earthquakes. Reconstruction across Nepal continues at a snail's pace, leaving citizens to recover on their own. ~

We are busy preparing for another round of filming and exploration for @ナショナルジオグラフィック #thelasthoneyhunter project. Today is already a blur of weighing gear and last minute purchases, the butterflies starting to take flight before tomorrow morning's early departure. ~
