Photograph by @paulnicklen // Exactly six years ago, I sat on this same river guided by my good friend, Marven Robinson of the Gitga’at First Nation community of Hartley Bay while on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック. More importantly, I photographed this same Spirit Bear standing on a waterfall and that image appeared in @ナショナルジオグラフィック magazine as we did the story in an effort to let the world know that Enbridge Oil is not welcome in this pristine territory. My heart goes out to the First Nations of North Dakota as they too try and protect their tribal lands.
