Photo by @FransLanting “Motherhood Matters” Her name is Kabatwa. It took us hours of hiking through steep cloud forest to find her and her family in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. But when we did, we were treated to an unforgettable experience. Twins are extremely rare in mountain gorillas. They’ve been recorded only five times in the last 40 years. Fewer than 800 mountain gorillas survive in the wild, and Kabatwa has a unique opportunity to contribute to their future. We salute the superb rangers and guides in the national park who look after their well being. Please support the people and organizations who make a difference in their survival.
