ANNISTON, AL: Miss Marla is a hero dog! Back in April she donated blood and helped to save the life of another dog. 7 year old Marla has been living at the shelter since July 2011 -- that is a huge chunk of her life! Doesn't a hero like Marla deserves a real home with a doggy bed and family to call her own? PLEASE SHARE!
We're told that Marla is always highly recommended by staff and volunteers, but she is constantly overlooked due to her #brindle coloring and looks. People see her as a "pit bull" type dog rather than as Marla, a sweetheart. Thankfully, we know Marla's time to go to her forever home is coming soon. But she needs your help in getting there. Marla recently had her #glamourshots taken by the famed @SophieGamand, and although a bit shy behind the camera, this cover girl is truly marvelous! ?

We knew she would be, because Marla is...well...marvelous! Marla has waited a long time for a home. Marvelous Marla, always overlooked even though we all recommend her highly.
Marla is a mature girl with a very well balanced nature. Marla got cat-tested and has zero interest in kitties. She does well with other dogs who match her energy level - she likes to mouth wrestle with a buddy rather than race around the yard. She loves to perch on the dog house and enjoys giving and receiving hugs (she does need to learn not to jump up uninvited, but she is very eager to please). She also enjoys toys and likes to take them on the dog house with her! Marla is afraid of storms and needs kept safe indoors in bad weather. ⛈? Marla tested a very light heartworm positive. (She will be starting doxycycline.) She is a precious girl long overdue for a home." Marla is available for either adoption or rescue. She weighs approximately 60lbs. Transport available along the east coast, New England, and Great Lakes area.
