Submerged under the sea for over a thousand years, two lost cities of ancient Egypt were recently rediscovered. Their story is told for the first time in our unmissable exhibition #SunkenCities.

This head from a colossal statue depicts the Greco-Egyptian god Serapis. The 4-metre-tall statue it came from is thought to be from the Temple of Serapis, a huge sanctuary which once stood in the ancient Egyptian city of Canopus. People came from afar to sleep within the temple complex to be healed by miraculous cures that were delivered in a dream. The impressive remains of this sanctuary were recently discovered by underwater archaeologists.

See this alongside other impressive new discoveries in our #SunkenCities exhibition. You can book tickets now by following the link in our bio.
