Hi #OspreyPacks fans, @timmyoneill here! I'll be taking over Osprey's feed for the next couple days, sharing the story of my recent trip to Ethiopia to help perform life changing cataract surgeries.
I did my first 'vision' trip with Dr Geoff and @curedblindness in 2008 and in 2012 I took an ophthalmic tech course to be more useful and effective in the field. Patient flow is crucial to high-volume clinics and having the eye properly dilated is also key. @garrett_jwg snapped a pic of me assessing patients and adding drops to those 'on-deck'. Often the docs will swivel the microscope between two tables and as one is finished, another patient is waiting under the drape for the doctors healing touch.
