A closer look at an essential component of the #GE LEAP #jetengine known as the ‘blisk:’ a unique integrated fan blade and disk which replaces more traditional fan designs that incorporate a hub and individual fan blades. Supplied by @geaviation’s partner in Turkey, Tusas Engine Industries (TEI), the component is incredibly helpful in weight reduction and improved compressor efficiency, as well as having a significant tolerance in withstanding nicks and dents compared to traditional fan blades.
