After a frozen, frightful struggle to hike through an arctic freeze and whopping snowstorm, we huddled around our shared light and last food — two freeze dried meals for five of us. The challenge of our remote route and winter weather, forced us to stretch food supplies two days longer than we had onboard. The spray of stars and deafening stillness, quieted our grumbling bellies.
