A soccer match continues during a rain storm in San Miguel, a small town down the #Cayapas river in #Esmeraldas, #Ecuador. To get to it you must travel for four hours down the river in a small canoe. Esmeraldas is the northern most province on the coast of Ecuador. Despite the poverty the province lives in, it strives to progress through trade and fishing. Because of its proximity to the Colombian border, the guerrillas from the northern country have come into the country and even imposed terror on some of Esmeralda's northern towns. @runa_photos @thephotosociety
