The photographer @sergeyponomarev captured this image in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. In the 1980s, Melanija Knavs attended Ljubljana’s Secondary School of Design and Photography. At 17, she dated a boy who rode a Vespa and danced to Wham in “a nice discothèque” on weekends. Melanija could not have seen what was coming. Once she left Ljubljana for a modeling career in Milan, #Slovenia receded from view. And once she moved to New York, where she caught the eye of @ドナルド・トランプ, 24 years her senior, she never looked back. Melanija Knavs is now #Melania Trump.
